Is isometric supported?

Hello, are isometric maps supported?

Thanks, bye

No, tIDE and xTile only support 2D multi-layer maps. There are no plans to support isometric maps.

You could fake it by rotating the viewport 45 degrees and squishing it vertically...

I haven't thought of that! :) But seriously, that would only work if the required terrain is perfectly flat, and chances are, the rotated tiles wouldn't look as good as ones drawn specifically for an isometric view.

Thanks, for the reply, I was looking for an isometric map rendering engine, it seems that at the moment for xna there isn't any.

The only tile map editor with isometric support and with some code for xna, that I have found, is Tiled Map Editor (http://www.mapeditor.org/), and the xna support is implemented from Nick Gravelyn (https://bitbucket.org/nickgravelyn/tiledlib), but it's code has been forked to add isometric support (https://bitbucket.org/layoric/tiledlib/overview). So at the moment there isn't any already working open source isometric rendering engine for xna.
