Rotate map

I am completely new to XNA and tIDE, but just for the fun of it I am trying to make a small prototype of a game like the old arcade classic "Assault" (

Using tIDE I have created a map, and have the map displayed in my game/application, but how can I rotate the map around my sprite. Should I do a regular XNA viewport on top of it or can it be done using tIDE functionality.

tIDE doesn't support viewport rotation. You could perhaps extend XnaDisplayDevice, or make a custom implementation of IDisplayDevice that supports rotation, say, around the viewport centre.
