Create New Tile (In Game)

I'm writing a system to randomly generate maps, and I'm having to manually fill each layer with some tile so that it's not null. I can only change the TileIndex of a non-null tile. Is there a way to avoid this and make a null tile not-null when I want to set its TileIndex?

I'd ultimately like to create maps entirely in-code, sidestepping tIDE entirely for any randomly generated maps.

You need to create a new instance of StaticTile or AnimatedTile and assign
it at the required location in the layer if it is currently null.
